Our mission team just returned from a week of incredible ministry in the Dominican Republic.  Our COI team leader helped to coordinate a stretching and challenging construction project in the village of Santa Fe.  We dug trenches for foundations on the new school building; cut; bent, and positioned re-bar; mixed and poured hundreds of yards of concrete; and thoroughly enjoyed working side by side with many adults and kids in the community.  For many in our team this was their first cross-cultural experience and God used it to impact their lives in ways we couldn’t imagine.  – DA

The capital city of Tegucigalpa and the surrounding area provide exciting places for ministry. COI offers a variety of outreach activities at this site with the highlights including working at local children’s hospitals and up-close and personal work at a home for children who have been orphaned, abandoned, and abused.  This home has a dormitory that serves as our base.  We also do outreach in schools and a needy community operating and living beside a large trash dump in the area.

Most COI groups that have ministered in the prison say it was a highlight of their trip. No need to be afraid of reaching out in the prison to the 18th street gang with God’s love and grace! All in all, an outreach in the beautiful country of Honduras will prove to be a rich and rewarding experience for all!
